Job Summary
Design, configure, and administer multiple Oracle database platforms, including Oracle EBS R12, focusing on performance tuning, monitoring, and script authoring. Manage database components such as refresh, cloning, patching, and concurrent processing while troubleshooting functional issues and long-running jobs. Ensure reliability, scalability, and regulatory compliance through proactive monitoring, robust backup solutions using RMAN and DataGuard, and high-availability configurations. Provide 24x7 support and participate in on-call rotations aligned with U.S. and EMEA business hours, collaborating with global teams across APAC, EMEA, and the U.S. for seamless follow-the-sun coverage and incident management. Document procedures and change logs thoroughly to maintain technical ownership and adherence to Service Level Agreements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years of progressive experience in database administration
- Expertise with Oracle EBS, Oracle database, and Oracle Linux operating system
- Expert on Oracle EBS database performance tuning, operation, monitoring, compiling packages, executing and authoring scripts
- Expert knowledge to manage and support Oracle EBS database components, including database refresh/cloning, patch application, workflow management, and concurrent processing
- Expert knowledge on troubleshooting functional Issues on EBS applications
- Ability to work independently and lead complex database projects
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills under tight deadlines
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university
- Typically requires a minimum of 8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
- Typically requires a minimum of 8-12 years related experience
- Master's degree and 5-7 years equivalent industry experience
- PhD and 2-4 years of experience
- Oracle Database (including RAC, ASM, Data Guard) – at least version 19c
- Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) database administration
- Strong SQL and PL/SQL scripting skills
- Deep understanding of database architecture, indexing, partitioning, and query optimization
- Familiarity with data security standards (encryption, auditing, access controls)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently
- Work in US shift during the probationary period
- Once regularized, will be required to work in time zones other than Manila time zone
- Provide 24x7 support for critical systems and participate in on-call rotations
- Provide on-call support aligned with U.S. and EMEA business hours/time zones
- Be available to respond to critical database incidents, production outages, and high-priority escalations during assigned on-call periods
- Support planned maintenance, system upgrades, patching, deployments, and production activities that may occur outside normal business hours
- Collaborate with DBA teams and technical teams across APAC, EMEA, and U.S. regions
- Perform effective handoffs between global support teams
- Maintain a high level of responsiveness and technical ownership during assigned on-call periods
- Follow established escalation procedures, incident management processes, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Support weekend and holiday coverage when assigned as part of the DBA on-call rotation
Desired Qualifications
- DBA certifications (e.g., Oracle DBA, Oracle EBS, RMAN, Data Guard)
- Experience with database monitoring and diagnostic tools (OEM, SQL Profiler, etc.)
- Experience in supporting other enterprise apps like Oracle BI, FCCS, Oracle WMS
- Experience with ORDS and Apex administration
