Job Summary
Staff Data Scientist on Udemy's Consumer Product Analytics team, embedded with product, design, and engineering teams who own the top of the funnel—from discovery to purchase. You will drive a high-velocity experimentation program end-to-end (hypothesis development, metric design, power analysis, test design, readout, meta-analysis), own the analytical strategy for your area (KPIs, secondary metrics, segmentation), build and maintain dashboards for acquisition, conversion, and subscriptions, apply advanced analytics (causal inference, regression, clustering, forecasting, segmentation), translate findings into actionable narratives for senior leadership, and partner with Data Engineering and Analytics Engineering to improve instrumentation and data models. You will set the standard for analytical rigor, mentor junior data scientists, and shape the longer-term analytics roadmap and OKRs in collaboration with product and DS leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 6+ years of hands-on Data Science experience (4+ with a PhD)
- expert-level SQL and Python
- experience with Databricks or a similar cloud data warehouse
- strong product sense and ability to translate questions into analyses
- experience supporting top-of-funnel, growth, CRO, SEO, or marketing surfaces is strongly preferred
