Job Summary
Staff Data Scientist (Product & Ops) leading analytics and causal-inference-driven decision support across Product, Engineering, Design, Operations, and Clinical teams. Build and validate models and analyses, define metrics, and establish scalable frameworks to guide roadmaps while mentoring peers and influencing leaders. Drive self-serve insights, apply rigorous statistical methods, and act as a tech lead within the Data Science org to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders and advance the company’s mission to expand access to mental healthcare. 75-minute NYC commute noted for onsite presence; compensation between $190,000 and $270,000; full-time exempt benefits included.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years in data science/analytics roles with at least 3 years in a tech lead capacity
- Demonstrated ability to navigate an ambiguous data environment
- Experience with modeling that led to adoption of recommendations
- Knowledge of causal inference methods including RCT, Diff-in-Diff, IPW, Propensity Score, Instrumental Variables
- Experience with leveraging LLMs on text to generate insights
- Strong technical proficiency: SQL, Python or R, ETL/ELT, OLAP databases (e.g., Snowflake), dbt, BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Hex), and experimentation programs (A/B tests, causal inference, lift measurement)
- Excellent communication skills with executives and Directors+
- Bonus: Healthcare Experience, Start-up Experience
- Passion for mission-driven work in mental health or healthcare settings
- Candidates located within a 75-minute commute of NYC office are expected to work onsite 4 days/week
