Job Summary
Staff Data Scientist for Marketing — Lead strategic and technical execution of Reddit’s Marketing Intelligence. Set long-term marketing measurement roadmap, establish North Star metrics, and define how marketing spend is measured and optimized. Build and refine MMM and MTA systems to quantify incremental impact; design unified frameworks for B2B and B2C growth; lead causal inference and always-on incrementality testing with geo-holdout experiments. Mentor junior scientists, collaborate with Marketing, Growth, and Finance to translate insights into budget decisions, and set the technical bar for the Marketing organization. Emphasis on advanced statistics, econometrics, experimentation, and data-driven storytelling to senior leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- For M.S. holders: 10+ years of industry experience in marketing science, growth data science, or econometrics.
- For Ph.D. holders: 6+ years of industry experience.
- Deep understanding of the marketing ecosystem, including hands-on experience with Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM), Incrementality Testing, and Customer Lifetime Value (LTV) prediction.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python or R and SQL; experience building production-grade data pipelines and using machine learning for predictive modeling (e.g., churn prediction, lead scoring).
- Strategic Communication: Ability to influence C-suite stakeholders and translate complex statistical concepts into business strategy.
