Job Summary
Architect, build, and maintain scalable data systems that deliver end customer value while centralizing standardization for data collection, transformation, storage, and serving. Support ML and GenAI teams with platform capabilities for data delivery and processing, and enable reporting teams to provide internal and customer-facing business insights. Operationally manage data infrastructure, vendors, tooling, and processes to ensure enterprise-grade security and governance. Set technical direction for the data platform's evolution to support AI-driven product capabilities over a 1–2 year horizon, establishing standards for AI-augmented workflows. Mentor engineers on data systems architecture and best practices while evaluating emerging tools to drive adoption across the platform.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in data platform engineering, data infrastructure, or related technical roles
- Strong programming background (e.g. Python)
- Operational maturity (e.g. CI/CD systems, Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, monitoring, distributed systems, security and privacy best practices, etc.)
- Experience in building and maintaining analytics stacks (e.g. Snowflake, dbt, Looker)
- Running GenAI / ML systems in production (e.g. MLOps tooling, vector search, embedding stores, feature engineering at scale, etc.)
- Architecting data systems (e.g. Airflow, Kafka, general system design)
- You will be expected to work from your local office at least 2 days per week (or 8 days per month)
- This hybrid role will require travel up to 25% of the time for client engagements
- If you are not located near a hub: You will work as a fully remote employee. This remote role will require travel up to 50% of the time for client engagements and internal BetterUp purposes
