Job Summary
Senior Staff Data Engineer for Xometry's Data Platform. Own the data architecture behind high-leverage initiatives, including the DFM AI + IQE integration with partner systems (Teamcenter, Designcenter). Lead the design of enterprise-scale data pipelines (batch and real-time), data models for parts/BOMs/quotes/manufacturability signals, and governance/observability across partner boundaries. Own end-to-end data lifecycle from acquisition to delivery, define best practices for data modeling and CI/CD, mentor engineers, and collaborate with engineering, product, analytics, and partner teams. Qualifications include a Bachelor's in a STEM field with 5+ years of data engineering experience, Snowflake and SQL/Python proficiency, dbt/Airflow/Kafka/Kinesis experience, AWS data ecosystem knowledge, and partner/PLM integration exposure; salary range $180k–$200k with benefits; hybrid US-based role in North Bethesda, MD and Boston, MA.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years in a data engineering-related role
- Deep expertise with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake strongly preferred)
- Expert-level SQL and strong Python
- Experience with modern tooling (dbt, Airbyte, Airflow)
- Enterprise data architecture across multiple systems and domains
- Experience with Kafka, Spark, or Kinesis; scalable data stores (e.g., Apache Iceberg)
- CI/CD, automated testing, contract testing, and schema-evolution in data pipelines
- AWS data ecosystem
- Enterprise/partner integration with PLM/ERP or large enterprise SaaS; Teamcenter experience a strong plus
- Looker/Streamlit for data visualization
- Data governance and observability tooling across partner boundaries
- Experience with modern lakehouse or data mesh architectures
- IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Event-driven architecture and CDC pipelines
- Manufacturing/supply chain or marketplace experience a plus
