Job Summary
The Staff Data Engineer position involves leading and mentoring a diverse team focused on building ETL pipelines for AI/ML and LLM solutions. Responsibilities include assembling complex data sets, developing infrastructure for data extraction, maintaining curated data for metrics, implementing AI/ML algorithms, and enhancing internal processes for scalability and efficiency. Candidates must possess a B.S. in a relevant field, a minimum of six years of experience, and an active TS/SCI clearance with a Full-Scope Polygraph, alongside relevant technical skills in data engineering.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in data science, AI/ML, computer science, or related field
- Minimum six (6) years of relevant experience as a Data Engineer/Scientist
- Experience developing data pipelines and normalizing data with canonical Python packages (e.g. NumPy, Pandas, Polars)
- Experience contributing on a team using version control (e.g. git, GitLab, Bitbucket)
- Active TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance with a recent Full-Scope Polygraph (FSP)
Desired Qualifications
- M.S. or PhD in data science, AI/ML, computer science, or related field
- Experience with Gitlab, DevSecOps utilizing test-driven development, containers (e.g. Docker, Docker Compose), cloud services (e.g. AWS), tools for distributed computing (e.g. Spark, Pyspark)
- Experience leading an interdisciplinary team of researchers and software developers
- Experience with Large Language Models and applying Transformer-based architectures to domains
- Experience with Natural Language Processing algorithms such as BERT
- Experience with reinforcement learning and familiarity with Gymnasium Gym and related tools
- Experience with Machine Learning libraries and frameworks such as HuggingFace and LangChain
- Experience with Linux
