Staff Data Engineer - Governance Team

Job Summary
Staff Data Engineer on Blip's Governance Team to implement governance-as-code, FinOps for data platforms, and scalable templates within the Data & Analytics CoE. Translate governance strategy into automation, patterns, and tooling to make compliance and best practices the fastest and easiest path for data teams. Collaborate with the Data Architect and Google Cloud Professional Services to design and implement governance frameworks, automated workflows for data classification, lineage tracking, quality validation, and compliance reporting; build reusable IaC modules and a catalog of pipeline templates for batch, streaming, and data contracts; enable self-service governance with guardrails, observability, and CI/CD patterns.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years in Data Engineering, Platform Engineering, or Data Infrastructure roles
- experience implementing data governance frameworks in production
- hands-on experience with FinOps for data platforms
- experience building reusable frameworks, templates, or internal platforms
