Job Summary
Define, build, and maintain a robust metric architecture by partnering with Directors and VPs to establish North Star metrics and operational guardrails. Lead a dedicated workstream reviewing key metrics weekly to report trends and perform root-cause analysis on anomalies, separating true signals from noise. Decompose high-level business goals into testable hypotheses and deliver clear business narratives that translate complex data into actionable recommendations. Collaborate with cross-functional partners on measurement strategy, design operational experiments, and evangelize available data through documentation and training to drive adoption. This Staff Data Analyst role serves as a strategic partner between Global Operations & Technology and the Enterprise Data team, focusing on supply chain and member support domains. The position requires 7+ years of experience with advanced SQL, Python, and Looker proficiency, reporting to a hybrid team in New York City.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of data analytics experience
- Proven track record operating at a senior level within a complex organization
- Experience performing data extraction, cleaning, analysis and presentation for medium to large datasets
- Practical knowledge of A/B testing and quasi-experimental design (e.g., difference-in-differences)
- Advanced SQL proficiency
- Advanced experience with Looker (or similar enterprise BI tools)
- Highly fluent in spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets)
- Fluency analyzing data with Python and/or R
- Familiarity with dbt and modern analytics engineering principles
- Highly skilled in both written and verbal communication
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to establish trusted analytics and guide teams away from misleading metrics
- Comfort with ambiguity and a strategic mindset for solving complex, unstructured problems
- Experience working in deep partnership with cross-functional teams—both technical and non-technical
- Highly analytical thinking about how complex systems talk to each other
- Ability to ask questions, explain findings, and communicate insights to empower leadership
- Ability to simplify a problem for clarity and determine when a complex deep-dive is warranted
- Ability to collaborate, communicate, and transform data into actionable business narratives
- Fluency in supply chain concepts and data
