Job Summary

Conduct system-level decomposition of TEMPEST or EMI/EMC requirements and develop sub-system design specifications. Lead Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) team efforts in TEMPEST, EMI/EMC design, and testing while supporting hardware engineering for compliance. Author TEMPEST test plans, procedures, and reports in accordance with NSTISSAM TEMPEST/1-92 and CNSSAM TEMPEST/01-02 standards, including participation in the Certified TEMPEST Test Services Program. Mentor TEMPEST trainees and contribute to the development of the TEMPEST Control Plan and E3 Integration and Analysis Report. Requires a Secret clearance, 12+ years of experience, and certified TEMPEST Professional Level I or II.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have a Bachelors degree and at least 12 years of relevant military / professional experience
  • Must have a Master's Degree and at least 10 years of relevant military / professional experience
  • Must have a PhD and at least 8 years of relevant military / professional experience
  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and 16 years of relevant military / professional experience
  • Must be a certified TEMPEST Professional Level II
  • Must be a certified TEMPEST Professional Level I with the ability to achieve a Level II certification with a reasonable time as determined by business needs
  • Must have experience with design for TEMPEST and EMI/EMC compliance
  • Must have experience with system level integration (bonding, grounding, shielding, filtering, transient suppression)
  • Must have experience working with TEMPEST and EMI/EMC Requirements
  • Must have applied experience with TEMPEST standards including NSTISSAM TEMPEST/1-92, CNSSAM TEMPEST 01-02, and related NSA technical memorandums
  • Must have experience with TEMPEST test equipment such as, TEMPEST receivers, oscilloscopes, dynamic signal analyzers, signal generators, etc.
  • Must have an active US Government Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior component-level & System level TEMPEST experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, Physics or Systems Engineering
  • Expert of systems engineering principles and processes
  • Experience with managing/scheduling facilities and equipment
  • Experience in the technical oversight and reporting of E3 programs
  • Experience in showing compliance to TEMPEST or EMI/EMC requirements processes for equipment and sub-systems
  • Experience with equipment, sub-system and system level EMI/EMC test (Expertise in MIL-STD 461, automotive or commercial EMI/EMC testing)
  • Technical ability to develop, document, and maintain tailored TEMPEST or EMI/EMC requirements at equipment, sub-system, and system levels
  • Technical ability to perform TEMPEST or EMI/EMC design and analysis at both system and hardware levels
  • Experience leading TEMPEST or EMI efforts with integrated product teams (IPTs)
  • Experience testing in accordance with NSTISSAM TEMPEST/1-92, CNSSAM TEMPEST 01-02
