Job Summary
Manage all Staff Counsel internal audit activities by reviewing office files to ensure proper case handling and compliance with established procedures, standards, and best practices. Conduct file reviews, assess departmental procedure implementation, and prepare reports reflecting audit results while providing critical analysis and coaching to the internal audit team. Develop auditing guidelines, present findings to senior management, and create the annual auditing schedule to ensure each office is audited in accordance with department requirements. This role requires a Juris Doctor with ten years of litigation experience and involves interviewing applicants, conducting performance appraisals, and managing personnel changes. The position offers an annual salary between $151,700 and $235,750.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor
- Must be able to document files in a clear, concise, professional written manner, to be understood by customers, clients, co-workers and other employees of the organization
- Must demonstrate successful performance in handling trial responsibility for cases of significant severity and complexity
- Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in applicable jurisdictions and meet and maintain licensing requirements including mandatory Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements where applicable
- Must have a minimum of ten years of litigation experience, including insurance defense or personal injury
