Job Summary
Independently manage moderately complex civil litigation involving claims up to $50,000 exposure, conducting comprehensive legal research, drafting pleadings, and leading settlement negotiations. Develop and execute advanced legal strategies for discovery and trial preparation while utilizing e-discovery tools and case management systems to streamline workflows. Mentor junior attorneys and design training sessions for Legal and Claims departments, ensuring all documentation adheres to ethical guidelines and the Model Rules of Professional Conduct. Provide strategic legal advice to clients and Claims Representatives, identify legal risks, and implement process automation opportunities. This role supports Senior Trial Counsel in managing the full litigation lifecycle from preparation through trial.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) or LLB degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the bar in Washington and in good standing
- Minimum of 5 years of successful trial attorney experience
- Proven experience managing moderately complex litigation
- General knowledge of insurance law
- Exceptional legal research skills
