Job Summary
Own and lead projects in automation platforms including PLC, HMI, SCADA, historians, and industrial networks from concept to commissioning. Translate functional requirements into control system configurations, design network architectures, and develop robust control strategies. Conduct system programming, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning at client sites while delivering technical support and responding to emergency calls. Mentor less experienced engineers, review technical documentation, and ensure configurations comply with industry codes and cybersecurity best practices. Collaborate with vendors to procure equipment and interface with clients to provide timely updates. Requires 6+ years in controls engineering and proficiency in PLC programming, SCADA/HMI platforms, and industrial networking protocols.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Electronics & Engineering Technology, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- 6+ years in controls engineering, automation, or industrial system integration
- Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Modicon/Schneider/Control Expert/M580)
- Experience with SCADA/HMI platforms (Ignition, Wonderware System Platform, FactoryTalk View)
- Familiarity with industrial networking protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, OPCUA, MQTT)
- Knowledge of industrial automation standards (UL 508A, NFPA 79, ISO 13849, IEC 61131)
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with relational databases preferred (DB2, SQL)
