Staff Contract Analyst (Remote)

Job Summary

Review, redline, and negotiate commercial contracts, customer terms, proposals, and equipment leases in both English and French. Evaluate drafts against legal and business guidelines to mitigate risks, flag non-compliant terms, and drive open items to resolution. Coordinate with Legal, Sales, Finance, and other stakeholders to ensure contract processes support business needs, while providing lead support on workflow questions and issue resolution. Compare new agreements to existing ones for consistency, maintain contract resources, and develop compliance programs and reports for Finance, Marketing, and Sales. Mentor Contract Analysts, guide cross-functional partners on department processes, and assist with software system improvements for contract management.

Required Qualifications

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
  • 6 years related experience and a Master's degree
  • PhD with 3 years of experience
  • Equivalent experience
  • Advanced English and French language skills
  • Ability to review, draft, and negotiate legal and commercial documents in both English and French
  • Ability to provide clear legal-context support to Illumina stakeholders and customers in the U.S. and Canada
  • Demonstrated experience drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing a variety of commercial contracts and legal documents with limited supervision
  • Experience with solicitations/bids/tenders for Canadian government entities
  • Strong understanding of the contract lifecycle, including contract evaluation, negotiation, approval, tracking, reporting, and close-out
  • Ability to quickly understand business objectives
