Job Summary
Staff Cloud Infrastructure Engineer responsible for designing and owning platform infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, observability stack, and cloud platforms powering ChargePoint products. Collaborates with development, QA, and security to build reliable, scalable, and secure systems, emphasizing automation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Responsibilities include building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automating deployment workflows, release management (versioning, tagging, canary/blue-green deployments), integrating automated testing and security scanning, architecting scalable cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure) with IaC (Terraform/Pulumi/CloudFormation), enabling multi-environment parity, container orchestration with Docker/Kubernetes (EKS/GKE/AKS), managing service mesh, and leading incident response, observability, and reliability initiatives. Leadership responsibilities include mentoring junior/mid-level engineers, defining standards and runbooks, participating in architecture reviews, and managing third-party tooling. Requirements emphasize extensive cloud experience, strong CI/CD and IaC skills, container orchestration, observability, security/compliance, and a track record of technical leadership.
Required Qualifications
- 7–9 years of hands-on experience in a DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering role
- Strong expertise with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Deep experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, CircleCI, or Tekton)
- Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and/or Pulumi/CloudFormation
- Hands-on expertise with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments
- Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go
- Solid networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, load balancing, VPNs, CDN)
- Experience with observability/monitoring platforms (Prometheus/Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, ELK)
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor team members
- Experience with Git workflows and tools such as ArgoCD or Flux
- Knowledge of service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd, Envoy)
- Exposure to FinOps and cloud cost optimization tooling
- Experience with database administration and managed data services (RDS, CloudSQL, DynamoDB)
- Familiarity with ML/AI infrastructure or data platform engineering
- Relevant certifications (AWS Solutions Architect / DevOps Engineer, CKA/CKAD, Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, HashiCorp Terraform Associate)
- Background in regulated or high-compliance environments (FinTech, Healthcare, eCommerce)
