Job Summary
Assess patients' spiritual practices and values to integrate them into medical care plans, while communicating these needs to the interdisciplinary health care team. Support patients and families through difficult challenges by helping them navigate treatment decisions within their spiritual beliefs. Provide guidance to other chaplains to ensure appropriate support for the care team. This role offers a full-time day shift schedule from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday at UW Health's Magnet-designated University Hospital in Madison.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Divinity or Master's level theological degree from a school accredited by a member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
- Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) in a hospital setting
- 1 year hospital work experience post-CPE or two (2) years of other relevant spiritual or ministry experience
- Eligible for Board Certification by a recognized national body (APC, NAJC, etc.) within 2 Yrs
- Board Certified Chaplain in good standing with a recognized national body (APC, NAJC, etc.) within 3 Yrs
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of a 1-year CPE Residency Program in a hospital setting
- 2 years of work experience post-CPE in a Level 1 Trauma Center and/or children's hospital
- Board Certified Chaplain in good standing with a recognized national body (APC, NAJC, etc.)
