Job Summary
Provide supportive care to meet the spiritual and emotional needs of patients, families, and staff as a member of the healthcare team. Offer spiritual and ethical consultation to medical staff to enhance patient care and coordinate acute bereavement services. Facilitate community clergy access to parishioners while adhering to patient confidentiality limits. Work weekend shifts (20 hours/week) from 7:30 am–8 pm on Saturdays and 11:30 am–8 pm on Sundays. This role supports Nebraska Medicine's mission to deliver extraordinary care through collaboration within the region's top academic health network.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in health care ministry
- Experience in parish ministry
- Chaplain experience in a medical center environment
- Graduate level theological degree
- Training in bereavement and ethics
- Experience in providing spiritual support in a multi-faith environment
- Denominational endorsement
- Certification or eligibility for certification by a national pastoral care organization
- Clinical Pastoral Education
