Job Summary
Manage day-to-day bookkeeping for multiple small business clients by recording and categorizing financial transactions, processing accounts payable and receivable, and handling payroll. Reconcile bank, credit card, loan, and balance sheet accounts while preparing and filing sales and excise tax reports. Assist with month-end and year-end tasks, maintain accurate accounting records, and communicate professionally with clients to resolve discrepancies. Collaborate with teammates to ensure work is completed accurately and on schedule while prioritizing multiple deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field or equivalent successful bookkeeping experience (5 years +)
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience using QuickBooks Online
- Experience processing payroll and reconciling payroll liabilities
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles (GAAP) and financial statements
- Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple client deadlines and prioritize work effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to providing outstanding client service
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team
Desired Qualifications
- QuickBooks ProAdvisor Certification
- Experience with Gusto payroll
- Experience with other cloud-based accounting systems (Xero, Zoho, POS systems, integrated Apps)
- Experience working in a bookkeeping or public accounting firm
- Experience with bookkeeping cleanups and catch-up work
- Familiarity with Washington State excise tax reporting
