Job Summary
Staff Bazel Engineer to build and scale Bazel-based build infrastructure across a multi-language robotics codebase. Own and evolve the Bazel build system, including remote caching and remote execution; develop and maintain Starlark rules, macros, and toolchains; optimize build and test performance across local development and CI environments; troubleshoot and resolve build failures and dependency issues; improve developer workflows on hardware; onboard services and components to Bazel; support and enhance CI/CD pipelines for reliable releases; establish best practices for hermetic and reproducible builds; collaborate and mentor other engineers across software, platform, and robotics teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- At least 8+ years of experience in software engineering, build systems, or developer infrastructure
- Experience architecting, implementing and maintaining Bazel build systems at scale in production environments
- Proficiency in one or more core programming languages (C++, Python, Go, Java)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and hermetic/reproducible builds
- Strong technical leadership and mentoring skills
