Job Summary

Staff Battery (HVPS) Manufacturing Design Engineer leads design, development, and launch of advanced manufacturing lines for Archer’s Battery Pack and Module production. Drives equipment specifications, process development, automation strategy, factory readiness, and production ramp. Partners across Manufacturing, Design Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Facilities, and Production; mentors engineers and drives cross-functional execution. Oversees multiple stations/processes, implements DFM improvements, optimizes workflows and line efficiency using Lean and 5S, and drives process capability and quality via PFMEA, SPC, KPI tracking, and continuous improvement. Supports MRB activities and supplier development, ensuring production readiness and day-to-day shop-floor operations. Requirements include a Bachelor's in a related technical discipline, 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience (2+ years in EV battery module/pack manufacturing), hands-on experience with adhesion dispensing, cell testing, potting, pick-and-place automation, high-voltage testing, knowledge of NFPA79/NEC/UL508A/ANSI/RIA15.06/OSHA, DOE planning, statistical analysis, and cross-functional leadership. Bonus: aerospace/EV experience, FAA FAR Part guidance, HV battery systems, automation-focused manufacturing. Salary range: $152,100-$190,100 base pay; role is safety-sensitive with background check and drug screening; visa sponsorship is not provided. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline
  • 7+ years manufacturing engineering experience
  • 2+ years directly supporting EV battery module or pack manufacturing from prototype through high-volume production
  • Strong hands-on experience with prototype and high-volume manufacturing for complex electromechanical or high-voltage assemblies
  • Experience with automotive or aerospace-grade manufacturing standards and safety requirements
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (DMAIC), PFMEA, SPC, MSA, and GD&T
  • Experience with CAD, PLM, MES, ERP; data tools like SQL, Python, Tableau
