Job Summary
Design and develop backend services in Go and Python for SentinelOne's on-premises deployments, focusing on operational correctness and upgrade safety within customer-managed environments. Own the deployment lifecycle by building Docker images and ensuring services start correctly across diverse infrastructure configurations. Build and evolve REST and gRPC APIs with strict backwards-compatibility contracts while driving observability improvements through OpenTelemetry instrumentation and SLO definition. Manage database migrations using Alembic to handle schema evolution without downtime and maintain query performance under load.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of backend engineering experience with Go in a production microservices environment
- deep familiarity with Flask, SQLAlchemy, and async concurrency patterns (gevent or asyncio)
- Hands-on experience packaging and deploying containerized services with Docker and Kubernetes
- experience writing Helm charts
- reasoning about upgrade paths across multiple deployed versions
- Strong PostgreSQL skills including schema design, query optimization, and writing zero-downtime migration scripts using Alembic or equivalent tools
- Experience building and maintaining gRPC and REST APIs with explicit versioning strategies
- Solid understanding of observability: structured logging, distributed tracing with OpenTelemetry or equivalent, and building dashboards in Grafana or similar tools
