Job Summary

Staff Avionics Systems Engineer responsible for delivering space-ready compute units for flight spacecraft and ground-based hardware-in-the-loop. Lead the optimization of compute and storage (CPU, GPU, TPU, etc.) under power, thermal, EMI, and mechanical constraints, and collaborate with software teams to establish core software infrastructure on both spacecraft and ground. Role emphasizes high autonomy, rapid prototyping, early testing, and iterative development, with hands-on campaigns to derisk interfaces and validate performance before flight. Requires 7+ years in digital, compute-centric electronics and a Bachelor's or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field. Strong systems engineering, risk management, and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills are essential. Nice-to-haves include experience with non-volatile storage, mobile compute, server-class computing, and radiation-touci environments. Compensation range is $179,000–$241,000 USD, with Relativity Space emphasizing equity, PTO, parental leave, development stipends, and other rewards.

Required Qualifications
