Job Summary
Staff Automation Engineer, SME/SIS responsible for providing Subject Matter Expert guidance on the design, implementation, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS). Supports capital SIS projects; assists with operation, maintenance, modification, testing and troubleshooting of SIS platforms. Participates in PSM programs (PHA, LOPA, MOC, RCA) to ensure safe, reliable operation and regulatory compliance. Maintains SIS standards and safety lifecycle management documents; develops SRS and Cause and Effect matrices and performs SIL verification. Creates/reviews functional check and proof test procedures for SIS; ensures AP compliance with TPC programming standards. Provides SIS cybersecurity guidance; develops KPIs for SIS; collaborates with production/process teams to design SIFs; ensures RAGAGEP is implemented; identifies SIS training activities for Safety Lifecycle phases; participates in FAT/IFAT/SAT; liaises with 3rd party contractors to ensure timely delivery.
Required Qualifications
- MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related.
- MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 8 years of experience in the chemical engineering field which includes experience in a refinery or petrochemical plant with process safety focus, implementing SIS projects based on ISA 61511/ ISA 84, performing SIL verification, knowledge of Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) and process safety standards.
