Job Summary
Conduct legal services to establish paternity, child support, and medical support while enforcing new and existing orders. Draft, review, and sign legal documents, ensuring all orders contain required federal and state elements. Negotiate with opposing counsel, attend hearings, and provide legal advice to Specialists on court filings. Vigorously advocate state interests by applying knowledge of federal and state child support policies and procedures. Update automated systems to monitor cases through the legal process and maintain a positive working relationship with the State. Attend weekly project team meetings and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree
- license to practice law in the state where the project is located
- Legal experience in domestic relations law or as a prosecutor
- child support enforcement
Desired Qualifications
- Legal experience in domestic relations law or as a prosecutor is desired (child support enforcement preferred)
