Job Summary
Conduct client intakes, interviews, and provide legal assistance ranging from brief counsel to full representation on complex contract drafting for small businesses and nonprofits. Draft governance documents, contracts, advice letters, and correspondence related to small business and nonprofit formation while researching applicable laws. Co-counsel or cover cases as needed, serve as a messenger in public forums and community events, and deliver educational workshops to aspiring entrepreneurs. Build relationships with community organizations and stakeholders, actively seek educational opportunities, and maintain a balance between client and non-client work. Collaborate with other departments to align service needs with organizational initiatives, contribute to policy development, support reporting requirements, and assist in managing the CED Unit budget and grant funds.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed to practice law in the State of Florida and in good standing
- Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment
- Valid driver's license and proof of insurance necessary
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the areas of business/corporate, contract, and/or real estate law preferred
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Proficiency with Legal Server
