Job Summary
Provide holistic legal assistance and advocacy to victims of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV), Sexual Assault (SA), and stalking. The Staff Attorney will deliver an array of legal services including legal advice and counsel, prepare court forms and documents, assist in hearing preparation, and represent clients in court. Responsibilities also involve conducting intakes, navigating court processes, operating the DVRO Clinic, collaborating with immigration law organizations, and providing community outreach. Position requires adaptability, strong communication skills, and a commitment to client safety and confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree
- Licensed California attorney in good standing
- Completion of California State-approved Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence Crisis Intervention Training required (or must complete upon hiring)
Desired Qualifications
- Oral and written fluency in English and Spanish highly preferred
- Experience providing legal services to victims of IPV, SA, and stalking
- Experience working with intervention strategies, legal system, and/or crisis counseling
