Job Summary
Draft, review, and advise Company personnel on corporate documents, agreements, and compliance matters regarding products, tax, and market conduct. Analyze newly enacted legislation and regulatory mandates affecting business operations, while supporting litigation efforts and advising on organizational policy legal ramifications. Coordinate the establishment and maintenance of Privacy and Anti-Money Laundering programs in compliance with federal and state requirements. Maintain current knowledge of legal trends through training and self-study. Requires admission to the New York State Bar, three years of law experience, and intermediate Microsoft Office skills. Salary range is $89,000 to $121,000 annually. Visa sponsorship and relocation assistance are not available.
Required Qualifications
- Admission to New York State Bar
- 3 or more years of Law experience
- Experience with corporate law, contract law and general business law, and statutory and regulatory interpretation
- Compliance experience (including cybersecurity, USA PATRIOT Act Anti-Money Laundering, Privacy Law, law and regulation interpretation)
- Thorough knowledge of insurance law (life and annuities with particular competence in the New York Life Insurance Law)
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent data entry skills
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
- Ability to pay close attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and organize a heavy workload
- Bachelors degree
