Job Summary

Staff Applications Engineer focusing on tactile sensing within the Sustainable Automation Business Unit. The role involves developing expertise in tactile sensing, collaborating with internal development teams and customers to solve challenging problems, defining product requirements based on customer input, and developing comprehensive signal-chain solutions. Responsibilities include creating preliminary datasheets, user guides, evaluation boards, and related software collateral; supporting evaluation software; contributing to lab measurements and data capture; and engaging in technical discussions with customers. Requires a Bachelor's in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with 7+ years of experience, strong hardware/software integration skills, knowledge of analog, digital, and mixed-signal fundamentals, PCB design familiarity, and the ability to translate customer requirements into clear specifications. Desirable experience includes robotics, automation, AI/ML, perception systems, and ability to influence technical decisions through collaboration. Exposure to technical workshops and demonstrations, and the ability to prepare technical documentation and collateral. Willingness to engage with customers and travel as needed (travel up to 10%). This is a full-time role located in Wilmington, MA or Limerick, Ireland, within Analog Devices' Advanced Technology team.

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
  • 7+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Strong knowledge of analog, digital and mixed-signal fundamentals
  • Strong hardware and software background including system integration, initialization, and debugging
  • Ability to support customer engagements, evaluations, and technical discussions
  • Experience with PCB design and familiarity with PCB design tools (an advantage)
  • Knowledge of robotics, automation systems, AI/ML and perception systems (an advantage)
  • Effective communication skills and ability to prepare technical documentation and collateral
  • Experience with evaluating software and lab measurements, data capture, and creating datasheets/user guides/evaluation boards
