Job Summary
Staff Application Engineer role focusing on mixed-signal PHY SerDes and silicon bring-up. Responsibilities include testing and system-level debugging of internal IPs (High-Speed SerDes, USB, PLL/DLL, ADC), evaluating and debugging features in PHY, developing driver firmware, collecting performance data, and resolving issues across Ethernet and PCIe products. Provide direct technical support to top-tier customers, develop bench-level validation test plans, automate testing with Python/VBA/MATLAB, generate test reports, and create collateral documentation. Act as primary technical interface between Marvell and customers, qualify design activity at the customer engineering level, and participate in defining new products and identifying niche opportunities. Requires collaboration with remote teams and willingness to travel; on-site five days per week at the Pavia, Italy location. Expected base pay range is EUR 40,500–54,000 per annum; offers will align with skills and location.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields
- 3-5 years of related professional experience
- Master’s degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 2-3 years of experience (optional)
- Strong fundamentals of communication, transmission lines, EM, microwave theories (desired)
- Experience in Characterization of integrated circuits (desired)
- Test Script generation in Python or other languages (desired)
- Debugging using equipment like Oscilloscope, Power supplies, Multimeter (required)
- Experience in TX, RX and PLL Characterization of High Speed SERDES IC or RFIC (desired)
- Experience in using Sampling scope, VNA, TDR and BERT equipment (desired)
- Experience in testing IEEE/OIF Ethernet 802.3 Standards or PCIE (desired)
- Experience and knowledge on high-speed SerDes Printed Circuit Board design and system application (desired)
- Will be comfortable with travel
- Fluent in English both spoken and written
