Job Summary

Staff Analyst Level 2 - Litigation Support in the City’s Litigation Support Division’s Agency Based Discovery. The role involves collecting and analyzing data on operations, assessing budgetary requirements, examining organizational structures and operational systems across City agencies, and improving efficiency to support discovery obligations in litigation. Responsibilities include data collection and analysis to identify quality issues and implement corrective processes, preparing comprehensive reports with recommendations for improved efficiency, developing system and procedural training and protocol manuals, communicating with Law Department personnel and client agency staff regarding reports and pending requests, identifying and applying quality assurance methods, and conducting searches in client agency systems for discovery responses. Requires ability to work independently and in teams, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, productivity software, and familiarity with SQL-based databases. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies or a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college and two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in areas such as budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, management or methods analysis, organizational research or program evaluation, personnel or public administration, recruitment, classification, labor relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management; or
  • Associate degree or completion of 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described above
  • Four-year high school diploma or equivalent plus six years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described above
  • Combination of education and/or experience equivalent to the above; college education may be substituted for experience at 30 credits per one year of experience; must have high school diploma
