Job Summary

Staff Analyst responsible for developing standard operating procedures for DOT's Parking and Traffic Operations, conducting research on laws and regulations, and assisting in creating SOPs for programs; will liaison with multiple groups, document walkthroughs, design tracking sheets and folders, and prepare training materials and templates/spreadsheets to support operations; position may offer remote work up to 2 days per week under the Remote Work Pilot Program, with a base location in Queens and a 35-hour workweek. Requires advanced degree as detailed above or equivalent combination of education/experience; residence in NYC for initial two years; strong analytic, research, and process-design skills; ability to prepare training materials, diagrams, and workflow documentation; familiarity with public administration, budgeting, and operations analysis.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies or a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; or in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; or in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, labor relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management; or in a related area
  • Associate degree or completion of 60 semester credits with four years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described above
  • High school diploma or educational equivalent with six years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described above
  • Combination of education and/or experience equivalent to the above; college education may be substituted for professional experience; must have high school diploma

Additional Requirements

  • New hires must reside in NYC for the first two years of employment.
