Job Summary
The Staff AI/ML Engineer will lead the development of Agentic AI capabilities and other LLM-based capabilities for various mission management applications. Responsibilities include mentoring a multidisciplinary team, implementing machine learning algorithms, applying LLMs to complex problems, adapting foundational models, designing retrieval-augmented generation systems, deploying scalable AI solutions, and translating research into applied capabilities. Candidates must possess a B.S. in relevant fields, 8+ years of experience with significant work involving LLM applications, and an active TS/SCI security clearance.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in machine learning, computer science, mathematics, or related fields
- 8+ years of experience in software development or as a data scientist
- 2+ years of building LLM applications
- Experience fine-tuning foundational models
- Experience with steering techniques
- Experience with building adapters to use foundational models
- Experience with prompt engineering techniques
- Experience using Retrieval Augmented Generation techniques
- Experience with LLM frameworks
- Experience with AI APIs
- Experience with LLM deployment frameworks
- Experience developing UIs with ReAct
- Experience with Python and data science/machine learning libraries
- Experience with version control and Git
Desired Qualifications
- M.S. or PhD in machine learning, computer science, mathematics, or related fields
- Experience leading an interdisciplinary team of researchers and software developers
- Experience with Large Language Models
- Applying Transformer-based architectures to domains in computer vision
- Natural Language Processing algorithms such as BERT
- Reinforcement learning and familiarity with Gymnasium Gym, OpenEnv, TorchRL, RLlib, Stable Baselines
- Applying clustering algorithms and/or deep neural networks
- Implementing tracking and pattern-of-life algorithms
- Experience with GenAI Ops techniques and frameworks
- Experience with Machine Learning libraries and frameworks such as HuggingFace and LangChain
- Experience with Linux
- Experience with CUDA and Python libraries
- Familiarity with AWS cloud computing resources
- Experience with additional languages like Java, C++, Rust, Go, C#
- Experience in application deployment, virtualization, and containerization
- Experience shaping and writing proposals
- Adjudicated Counter Intelligence or Full Scope Polygraph
