Job Summary
Staff Aerodynamics Engineer role located on-site in Melbourne, FL. Responsible for the design, analysis, and testing of aircraft shapes to optimize performance, stability, and fuel efficiency while managing lift and drag forces. Use specialized software to simulate air behavior around aircraft to optimize drag reduction and lift; calculate and document performance metrics such as fuel efficiency and speed; plan, execute, and analyze tests on models and prototypes to validate CFD results; may attend or present at internal program, customer and/or supplier technical exchange meetings and/or formal program milestone reviews to provide progress updates. This position requires potential DoD clearance (Secret/Top Secret) and may involve 10% travel; relocation assistance may be available. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's in STEM with 14 years experience OR Master's in STEM with 12 years experience
- Active In-Scope DoD Secret clearance; ability to obtain Active Top Secret clearance
- Supplier Management Team (SMT) experience
- Experience with design, analysis and/or engineering tools development
- Proficient with Windows OS and Microsoft Office Suite
- Preferred: Active DoD Top Secret clearance with recent background investigation or continuous evaluation
- Experience with Siemens AMESIM, MATLAB/Simulink or similar tools
- Degree in Aerospace Engineering
- Experience writing/reviewing technical documents (CDRLS, SSOWs, SRDs, ICDs, SDRLs)
- Experience leading, mentoring, and developing multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Strong knowledge of aircraft performance metrics and CFD validation
