Job Summary
The Staff Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations across programs, handling accounts payable and expense management, billing, accounts receivable, deposits, and 1099 preparation, while assisting with month-end close and process improvements. Responsibilities include coding transactions across programs and funding sources, routing invoices for approvals, reconciliations of corporate credit card transactions, maintaining audit-ready records, and ensuring accurate financial data. Requires analytical, detail-oriented, systems-minded capabilities to enhance workflows, adapt to changing needs, and collaborate with the Finance & Administration team; remote work is possible after onboarding with regular coordination.
Required Qualifications
- Professional accounting or bookkeeping experience required
- Experience with core accounting functions such as accounts payable, billing, accounts receivable, reconciliations, or financial reporting support
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and improve operational workflows
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities in a remote work environment
