Job Summary
Staff Accountant focusing on GAAP-compliant financial statement preparation and analysis. Responsibilities include analyzing and reviewing financial statements for completeness, accuracy, and compliance; preparing journal entries; coding invoices; assisting with financial reporting audits with internal auditors, Arkansas Insurance Department, independent auditors, and/or Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association; performing advanced accounting functions and reconciliations; and mentoring less experienced staff. Requires Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred, 3+ years of accounting experience (or 1 year with a related Master's). Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and strong data management, analytical, and communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- If degree in Finance, completion of Intermediate Accounting I & II required
- CPA preferred
- Minimum three (3) years' accounting experience OR applicable Masters in related field with minimum one (1) years' experience
