Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant to support GAAP and statutory accounting in an insurance environment. Responsible for month-end and quarter-end close activities, journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and preparing detailed financial reports. Works with the Financial Reporting team to improve processes, strengthen internal controls, and support audits. Requires strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP), analytical mindset, and ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams. Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA or progress toward certification preferred. Infers experience within property and casualty insurance is preferred. Travel infrequent; full-time role based in Cedar Rapids, IA with remote work option.
