Job Summary
Maintain accurate financial records, including invoices, receipts, vendor documentation, and in-kind donation records using QuickBooks Online. Process ACH and invoice payments, reconcile credit card expenses and bank transactions, and prepare journal entries to support the monthly financial close. Assist with accounts payable and receivable activities, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and prepare weekly deposit logs. Support monthly and quarterly grant reimbursement requests by gathering documentation and organizing audit-ready packets. Collect staff timesheets, maintain vendor information, and ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting requirements and internal policies. Represent the organization at mandatory Pop Up & Give events. This full-time role requires approximately 40 hours per week with occasional evening or weekend work during audits or special projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Five or more years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles, including FASB standards and fund accounting
- Demonstrated proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to stay organized, meet deadlines, and successfully manage multiple priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A high level of discretion, integrity, and professionalism when handling confidential financial information
- A valid, unrestricted driver's license and reliable transportation
- Legal authorization to work in the United States

Desired Qualifications
- CPA license or progress toward CPA
- Experience with restricted funding and government grant accounting
- One or more years of nonprofit experience
