Job Summary
Assist in developing accurate monthly financial statements, ensuring cash receipts, deposits, journal entries, and reconciliations are completed accurately. Support the business analytics department with dashboard and reporting tasks, collect data for financial statement audits, and perform vendor data analysis for procurement. Contribute to financial analysis for common paymaster and leases while executing other general accounting, finance, or reporting duties as needed. This role supports the general accounting office within Stony Brook CPMP, a clinical practice management plan for SUNY Stony Brook Hospital.
Required Qualifications
- Two or more years of accounting work experience
- An associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting accepted in lieu of two years of accounting experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Microsoft Word/Excel proficiency
Desired Qualifications
- Pursuing an advanced degree in finance, accounting or business analytics
- Payroll experience
- Cash Receipts/Deposits/Banking Experience
- Accounting experience in an academic healthcare organization
