Job Summary
Staff Accountant to support the Director – Central Processing and Accounting Manager with processing exception transactions outside of the normal flow within our operating system and determining downstream impacts to accounting and to information sent to partners via APIs. Responsibilities include reconciling the operating system to various platforms, testing new software enhancements prior to release, drafting correcting entries, reviewing daily API exceptions to Retail Partners, and performing daily reconciliations. Collaborates with multiple departments (Project Management, Software Development, Call Center, Customer Solutions, and Accounting). Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance and 2+ years of experience; proficiency in Excel; strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities; ability to work independently in a remote environment; attention to detail; and excellent communication skills. The role is fully remote in the United States and requires availability during Eastern Time business hours.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance-related roles
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and reconciliation processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software systems and technologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a remote work environment
- Professional demeanor with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization
- Positive attitude with flexibility and adaptability in a changing environment
