Job Summary
Staff Accountant for a steel manufacturing company responsible for supporting the monthly close process, maintenance of accurate financial records, financial reporting, and ensuring GAAP compliance. The role collaborates with operations, purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and leadership to ensure accurate reporting and strong internal controls. Responsibilities include journal entries, reconciliations, preparation of financial statements, inventory accounting, fixed assets, tax filings, and providing financial analysis. Requires experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment, ERP systems, and strong Excel/analytical skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing, industrial, construction, distribution, or related environment.
- Strong understanding of GAAP.
- Experience performing account reconciliations and month-end close activities.
- Experience working with ERP systems.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

- Manufacturing accounting experience.
- Experience with inventory accounting and cost accounting principles.
- Experience with fixed asset accounting.
- Experience with sales and use tax compliance.
- Experience with ADP, NetSuite, or similar ERP platforms.
- CPA designation or progress toward CPA certification.
