Job Summary
Staff Accountant role in Carlsbad, CA for a growing SaaS company with hybrid work. Responsibilities include managing full-cycle accounts payable (invoice review, coding, approvals, payment processing), maintaining vendor records, ensuring expenses are recorded in the general ledger, assisting with 1099/W-9s, and supporting monthly close. Also accountable for preparing and posting monthly accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, cash receipts reconciliation, and assisting with audits and process improvements. Requires 3-5+ years of accounting experience, a Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, proficiency with ERP/accounting systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Intacct or similar), and strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP) with a detail-oriented, organized, and collaborative mindset.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3-5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in SaaS, technology, or high-growth environment
- Experience with accounts payable, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close
- Understanding of accrual-based accounting principles
- Experience with ERP or accounting systems including QuickBooks, NetSuite, Intacct or similar platforms
- Experience using QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and data analysis
