Staff Accountant

Job Summary
Manage core general ledger accounting, monthly close procedures, and financial reconciliation as the organization scales. Prepare and maintain prepaid expense schedules, fixed asset ledgers, and balance sheet reconciliations while ensuring all documentation remains audit-ready. Process vendor invoices and expense reports, perform multi-way matching against purchase orders, and coordinate close-related deadlines with cross-functional teams. Support the annual audit and tax filings by preparing schedules, responding to auditor inquiries, and assisting with R&D tax credit documentation. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls while supporting ad hoc financial analysis and special projects for the Controller.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1–3+ years of accounting experience
- Working knowledge of GAAP and month-end close processes
- Strong Excel skills
- Ability to manage detailed reconciliations and schedules
- Excellent attention to detail
- Organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be based in Addison, TX office
- Must be currently based in the US
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a startup, life sciences, or medical device environment
- Experience with ERP/GL systems (NetSuite preferred)
- Experience with AP/spend management tools (e.g., Ramp)
- CPA or progress toward CPA licensure
