Job Summary
Responsible for accurate invoice processing, cost coding support, reconciliations, and documentation within a construction accounting context. The Staff Accountant will assist in bank activity management, cash reporting, month-end close preparation, job cost tracking and support compliance-related schedules. Key duties include managing accounts payable, credit card and banking reconciliations, job cost data organization, payroll support tasks, and maintaining detailed financial documentation. Requires a BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance and 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1–3 years of accounting experience preferred; construction, general contractors, subcontractors, or job cost exposure is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented self-starter with ability to work independently and within a team environment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems (Sage 100 preferred)
- Strong proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and execute with urgency
