Job Summary

Maintain accurate general ledger accounts, prepare journal entries, and perform monthly reconciliations for bank and balance sheet accounts. Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, support billing and revenue-cycle processes, and monitor outstanding balances. Assist with month-end and year-end closing, prepare financial reports and variance analysis, and support the annual audit and grant compliance documentation. Manage cash deposits, bank reconciliations, and daily cash activity while providing accounting guidance to program and administrative staff. This hands-on role requires five years of progressive accounting experience, substantial QuickBooks proficiency, and strong Excel skills. Full-time position with a salary range of $68,000–$80,000.

Required Qualifications

  • Five or more years of progressive accounting experience
  • Substantial hands-on experience with QuickBooks
  • Demonstrated experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience preparing financial reports and supporting schedules
  • Ability to analyze financial information, identify discrepancies, and resolve accounting issues
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered
  • Nonprofit accounting experience
  • Experience with third-party billing or revenue-cycle processes
  • Experience with Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance, or other healthcare-related billing
  • Experience with grant accounting and compliance requirements
  • Familiarity with federal award requirements under Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200)
  • Experience with payroll processing
