Staff Accountant, Leases and Fixed Assets

Job Summary
Evaluate and set up leases, record monthly journal entries for lease and PP&E activity, and interface with field accounting personnel on lease issues. Maintain units of production schedules for mineral interest assets, assist with asset creation and capital job closeouts, and prepare balance sheet reconciliations and rollforwards. Review GL integrity reports to resolve outstanding issues and evaluate new approaches for process improvements. Assist with lease and PP&E quarterly and annual reporting schedules, plus ad-hoc reporting and analysis. Located at the corporate office in Raleigh, NC, this role requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with at least one year of relevant experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant accounting experience
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Must be a self-starter
- Must be a quick learner
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be able to work as part of a team
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization

Desired Qualifications
- CPA
- Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Excel
- JD Edwards skills
