Job Summary
Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports including 10-Ks and 10-Qs to summarize and interpret the company's financial position for management. Analyze trends, costs, revenues, and financial commitments to predict future expenses, while reconciling general ledger accounts and performing month-end close processes. Manage key accounting functions for cash, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets, ensuring compliance with GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley requirements, and internal controls. Identify process improvement opportunities, propose solutions to complex problems, and provide functional advice and training to less experienced accountants.
Required Qualifications
- BS/BA
- 5+ years' experience
- 2 years of SME in respective areas
- strong working knowledge of MAS500
- strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
- Certified Public Accountant designation preferred
- Advanced knowledge, understanding, and can apply GAAP concepts and rules
- Knowledgeable of the accounting field's current concepts, practices, and procedures
- Prior experience applying GAAP concepts and rules required
- General ledger proficiency required
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
