Staff Accountant II

Job Summary
Prepare and post journal entries, perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations, and assist with month-end and year-end close processes. Analyze general ledger accounts, investigate discrepancies, and prepare financial reports and supporting schedules. Maintain fixed asset records, assist with inventory accounting and manufacturing cost analysis, and support internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation. Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and review payroll-related accounting entries. Prepare sales tax and other regulatory filings as assigned while collaborating with Operations, Purchasing, and Supply Chain to ensure financial accuracy. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas)
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of inventory and cost accounting
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite experience preferred)
- Experience in dietary supplements, food manufacturing, or GMP-regulated industries
- Experience supporting audits
- Knowledge of internal controls and financial reporting
- Experience with budgeting and financial analysis
