Staff Accountant II

Job Summary
Prepare and post journal entries for month-end and year-end closes, perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and resolve discrepancies. Assist with financial statements, management reporting, and variance analysis while investigating general ledger activity. Support inventory valuation, cycle count reconciliations, and manufacturing variance reviews across multiple locations. Maintain fixed asset records, track capital expenditures, and assist with customer billing, cash application, and vendor invoice reviews. Prepare schedules for external audits, ensure GAAP compliance, and identify opportunities for reporting process improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation
- Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close activities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Clear communication skills and ability to work effectively with both finance and operations teams
Desired Qualifications
- Manufacturing, industrial, automotive, or distribution accounting experience
- Experience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, or manufacturing variance analysis
- ERP system experience such as Epicor, Acumatica, SAP, Oracle, or a similar platform
- CPA designation or CPA candidate preferred but not required
- Experience supporting multi-location operations
