Staff Accountant II

Job Summary
Prepare and post journal entries as part of the month-end and year-end close processes, performing monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies. Assist with monthly financial statements, management reporting packages, and variance analysis while analyzing general ledger activity and investigating unusual account activity. Support inventory valuation, cycle count reconciliation, and fixed asset records, including depreciation schedules and capital expenditure tracking. Collaborate with Operations and Inventory Control teams to maintain accurate records and ensure accounting activity aligns with GAAP and company policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation
- Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close activities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Clear communication skills and ability to work effectively with both finance and operations teams
Desired Qualifications
- Manufacturing, industrial, automotive, or distribution accounting experience
- Experience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, or manufacturing variance analysis
- ERP system experience such as Epicor, Acumatica, SAP, Oracle, or a similar platform
- CPA designation or CPA candidate
- Experience supporting multi-location operations
