Job Summary
Staff Accountant I will support the Accounting and Finance team in Austin, TX through a variety of duties including account reconciliations, month-end close activities, financial reporting support, journal entries, and process improvements. The role requires collaboration across departments, strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and proactive learning. The position offers an in-office work arrangement with typical hours Monday–Friday, and may involve occasional travel within the region. The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance (or equivalent experience), solid Excel skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities; preferred experience in construction/homebuilding accounting and CPA/CPA-track candidates.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent accounting experience
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment
- 1-3 years of general accounting experience
- Experience in construction, real estate, homebuilding, or project-based accounting environments
- Familiarity with ERP and accounting software systems
- Understanding of GAAP and accounting fundamentals
- CPA or CPA-track candidate preferred but not required
